Seems like I everytime I try to make it right it all comes down on me...

Some of you know about my on-again, off-again "involvement" with a certain, uh, let's call him a "coworker of the culinary persuasion who just happens to plan the menu and cook the food." Whatever. He won't read this. It has been so frustrating, all this back and forth. And yes, he has a girlfriend, now. And I'm sure she's a really nice girl, and I ( Read more... )

Yeah, that is not someone you want as a boyfriend! If not for the girlfriend factor, I'd say you shouldn't even worry about ending it, because as soon as you find someone better and more fulfilling, you'll be over it, anyway. But yes, her existence means you need to stop.

Yeah. I think I already knew that, but it's good to have someone else confirm it who is more objective and less emotionally ridiculous than I am in this particular situation. It's going to be terribly awkward ending it, I fear, but oh well...Now I know why they say not to get involved with people at work. Unless you end up married, chances are it won't end well. Lesson learned.

"It is our choices, Harry, that show us who we truly are. Far more than our abilities." - Albus Dumbledore.

p.s. Make choices regarding other people that are self respecting and consistent with your values and deepest desires. This kind of relationship does not seem to qualify.

p.s. p.s. Have a wonderful trip!

You are right, on all counts...I just need to let my actions reflect how I feel, and in this situation, I certainly haven't!

I will be updating (hopefully) while on the trip, and certainly when I get back! I hope you are doing well, how is the move to the new campus going? I would love to come see it when all is settled there!

You'll love the new campus Jess. The chapel space is spectacular and seats about 275 people. Perhaps you will celebrate your wedding there some day. We already have 2 alum weddings scheduled for this fall.

I have moved to Sammamish to be near the new campus. It's a culture change from my old home on Capitol Hill in Seattle, but it's a very beautiful area and I'm glad to be here.

Best always,
