Well, there's that way of doing it too, but grades let you know how you did in a much more in-depth way. For example, someone could succeed, but barely, or they could get everything right. Both would be a pass, but grades break it up even further! They're really helpful.
I apologize that you haven't gotten back grades in math just yet; this foolishness making children out of everyone put me a week behind. I think between the two of us, we both know you did just fine.
