Happy New Year! I love that you had tea as your drink-i swear i'm addicted to that tea!! <3 I love your scrapbook-i totally wanna try it now.lol. Mine probably wouldn't have too much in it, but it looks like fun <3
Nice. Something I read recently: "You do not have to sit outside in the dark. If, however, you want to look at the stars, you will find darkness is necessary." - Annie Dillard

Oboe!! That's so cool that you played oboe, it's such a pretty instrument :3 There are so many memes about it sounding like a duck, but I think that's just for the first couple months you play it XD ugh having so many flutes sure is hard on the ears man X__X But my silly new band director's only letting around 3 people play first, and dumping everyone else on the second/third flute parts, and even the oboe ones, so now you can barely hear the actual melody parts xD
NO FLUTES? :O that's no concert band, man X__X maybe you could audition for some professional ones?
I came to hate it. The reeds are just such a pain in the ass. I don't miss it! I like playing flute a lot better, although I'll probably never be able to fluttertongue and in general, I'm pretty out of practice.
I don't remember playing much concert band music where there even WAS a third flute part. Weird. I guess bands are a lot bigger in the US than here, though... but we still play the same music, so I'm not sure that that's relevant.
The band is a struggling little community group. I don't know of any professional concert bands around, plus, well, I'm pretty out of practice, and I barely have time for this band, if I even do. I'm not sure. It depends how heavy my course load turns out to be this semester. I hear it's supposed to be pretty heavy, but maybe I won't find it so difficult? We'll see. I already sing in a community choir, so I'm not sure I want to commit to much else. There are some really good players in the band, but mostly they need more people!
I can't fluttertongue at all! :O I can triple tongue though!! oh I hate the feeling of being in a struggling bang, it's really annoying to have to sit there and be bored out of your mind when people butcher music XD maybe you should accompany your choir on flute? Flutes compliment choirs really well XD
Also: I think my favourite band music I played in high school was the two Holst suites for military band. A lot of the other stuff I just don't even remember.
I'd kind of like to start practising flute again, but I just moved into an apartment at the beginning of December and I'm worried it would make my neighbours hate me.
