For every ounce of enlightened viewpoints magically appearing from formerly brain-dead college students, there is about ten pounds of bullshit.

Bullshit not just from college students, but from the university system as a whole.

Given the average of the percentage of brain power human beings use, it's a pretty good ration, actually. Though, I have my doubts as to whether or not "enlightened" viewpoints are magically appearing. First, I'm curious as to what you consider to be an enlightened viewpoint, but also I'm relatively certain that these viewpoints come from something that person has read, thought over, perhaps even they go so far as to have an epiphany, and then store away. Sadly, the reason they present for coming to those viewpoints may not help anyone else achieve the same understanding. Further, having one right opinion doesn't guarantee any others ( ... )

Well then, be of good cheer. You've learned the only thing you can learn from institutional education. But the question is, will you use it? The one who can read, but doesn't, is no better off than the one who cannot.

Buh?

That last 90% of brainmatter you allegedly "don't" use is where all the connections seem to... erm... connect. Just because they don't light up on an EEG, you shouldn't say that our brains are inactive deadweight.

I like abstractions!
