"Found poems" are poems with text taken from non-poetic texts, like advertising slogans or instructions on TV dinners. The text can be arranged in any form, and one's own ideas can even be put into the text to create something entirely different ( Read more... )

that's a really neat concept, found poetry... like found art. i like it. i like it alot.

22 people succeeded in killing themselves. that's really sad.

three questions: 1. who were the famous people? 2. where did you find these suicide notes? and 3. who the hell would talk about math before killing taking his/her own life? math, yech.

1. Famous people--Kurt Cobain, Seneca, Virginia Woolf
2. I found them online.
3. The math phrase came as an example of how you can't change nature or human behavior, that the writer of the note's life was meaningless because he couldn't live in a world like this.

I really like the concept and the poem itself. Knowing where the lines come from add a whole new element to it when you read it again. It's inspired me. I'm always reading totally weird stuff. I think I'll write some of it down. Thanks a lot noccy. I should read your LJ more often. Oh, by the way this is Emetib from IRC if ya remember me. I kinda lost my mIRC.
