And the embers never fade in your city by the lake...the place where you were born...

I took Randall, Chris, Derek, and Jeremy to the old ruins of the state capitol last night. It's the prettiest place in Tuscaloosa. I wouldn't mind getting married there ( Read more... )

One thing I have always wanted is someone to write a poem or a song about me, and I've never gotten it.

:sigh: The songs and poetry Stephen wrote for/about me are the best gifts anyone has ever given me. Even now, they still bring me comfort.

I know this isn't what you had in mind, but.... emilysimile October 20 2002, 22:49:25 UTC
Katie, Katie, Katie Koo,
Don't forget to smile.
You can always visit,
And we'll talk a long, long while.
Katie, Katie, Katie Koo,
Don't you go a minute
Without knowing that this world
Is special 'cause you're in it.

Ahhhhh what a great song.

*has warm fuzzies and a flashback of Say Anything*

And as for Plagarist boy, just be thankful he didn't start with "There was a girl from Alabama, who is my alpha, beta and gamma...."

This reminds me of a time, a couple of years ago, when I decided to suprise my woman with a poem dedicated to her. Everyone loved the poem, as I decided to get the opinions of others before I actually gave it to her (to make sure it was perfect, cuz "she deserves no less")...

I read it for her on our year-of-being-together anniversary. She didn't appreciate it for shit. She was a very shallow person, now that I think back on it. At that time, tho, I loved her----and would never think anything negative.

Its cool to know that at least some women are actually appreciative of it, deep enough and able to recognize the beauty of it, and view it with the same perspective I do (a beautiful thing)...I hope someday your hopes become a reality...

Thank you for this kind message. I keep most of my journal entries friends-only now for a variety of reasons.

By the way, someone did finally write me a poem. So all's well.
