I clapped when I read that. It's an appropriate reaction to a bullshit fine that is being exacted for a bullshit reason using a bullshit rule as a bullshit excuse.
I think they're lucky to get away with such a small fine. I don't remember the laws saying it's wrong to do harm to people, "unless they're Fidel Castro". If the participant had not been Fidel, but an American, they could have sued for damages.
That's how I feel about most laws. People seem to think they only apply in limited circumstances, but believe it or not our laws are designed to protect ALL people...
That, and there're so many worse things the FCC is trying to do, I can't complain when they enforce a GOOD law. I know I don't want my conversations broadcast (although I DO do that sometimes....) Of course, luckily for me, I don't actually have to inform the other party in those cases, although I do.
Funny is in the eye of the beholder. I mean, I'm sure you make people laugh at points. Or maybe not. But anywho. Don't limit yourself mentally, and all that.
