Just a technical question. Do you use an omnibounce diffuser with your external flash and underexpose a little bit?

I like the lighting in the pics. Its just different from what I would expect.

Depends on the shot. Most of the ones with flash i just point it at the ceiling and shoot, sometimes with a small bounce card. Outdoors I was using a fill flash a little, and most of the indoor shots were done in available lighting; I just let the D700's auto ISO crank it up when it needed to for maintaining a quick shutter speed.
