Finn took his time walking down the creaky steps, his mother sitting at the table coming slowly into his view. He was shaking with nerves, all his previous happiness about his and Sam’s declaration of their love had washed away and been replaced with complete fear. Once his feet met the final step, he watched his mother’s head turn slightly towards him. Her face was unreadable, normally Finn could tell whether she was angry or disappointed but she looked like she was feeling neither. Finn slowly stepped towards their dining table, neither of them speaking, and took a seat directly across from her.
“Finn.” She began, looking down at the table. “Are you gay?”
He couldn’t look at her, not directly, matching her slightly tilted head. “Yeah.”
“And Sam?”
“Yeah. Mom, I’m sorry. You weren’t supposed to find like this. Are you angry?” He asked her out right, not being able to withstand the waiting.
She finally met his gaze, smiling slightly. “Why would I be angry? Honey, I don’t care if you’re gay or whatever. I just wish you would’ve told me, instead of going through it alone. You’re my son; I love you no matter what.”
“I wasn’t alone, I have Sam.” Finn smiled slightly. “I love him.”
Finn looked at his mother as she paused for a second, her smile remaining and maybe even growing just slightly. He couldn’t help but smile, he was so scared she would be angry and tell them both to leave but she was being so cool about everything. As long as Finn didn’t mention the sex they’d be good, it’s not like they had an all night romp. They only had sex once.
“Do Sam’s parents know about you two?” She asked.
“No. And please don’t tell them, they’re super religious and Sam’s scared they’ll disown him or something.” Finn didn’t know how to explain Sam’s fear of his parents finding out, but he knew they couldn’t because it would devastate the boy.
“Okay, okay. I won’t, but they’re going to have to be told eventually. Have you two been, you know, having…?” She didn’t continue, just nodded kind of suggestively and Finn caught on that she meant sex.
He couldn’t lie to her. He didn’t want to. “Once. Here. But you weren’t home, I made sure. We were completely safe, I swear.” Finn attempted to drum up enough reasons for her to be okay with it, but still her expression didn’t alter from that sweet motherly smile.
“Its okay, Finn. You’re both 18 now, and as long as you’re safe. I would rather you do it here, than on the streets.” Mrs. Hudson actually kind of laughed a little, giving Finn the go ahead to breathe again.
Finn was elated to hear that everything was perfect. He had gotten Sam back, his mom was more than fine with them being together, but there was one more thing. “Mom, is it okay if Sam stays tonight? Something happened last night, and I don’t want to leave him alone.” He asked, avoiding the dirty details he’d rather not reconcile. “We can sleep in separate beds, I’ll sleep downstairs. He just shouldn’t be alone right now.”
“That’s fine but you can sleep in your room. There’s no need to separate you if you don’t want him to be alone. As long as you don’t, you know, and then it’s fine. But he’ll have to call his parents first.” Standing, Mrs. Hudson walked towards Finn and took his hand. “I’m really proud of you, Finn. And I love you.”
“I love you too, mom. And thank you, for being cool about it and all.” Finn gave his mother a wide smile, and stood as she left for the kitchen. “I’m going to go back upstairs, let Sam know its okay to stay here tonight.”
Mrs. Hudson turned back to Finn, nodding a little as she picked up her car keys and handbag. “Okay, I’m going to get some groceries for dinner. Does Sam like stew?”
“Uh, I think so. Yeah.” Finn had no idea if Sam liked stew; they didn’t much of the little details about each other, something for them to work on as they get back on track.
Finn watched his mom leave, waiting for her to drive off before practically sprinting up the stairs to his bedroom to find the blonde haired teenager asleep yet again. Normally he wouldn’t wake him because of how cute he looked curled in a ball, but it was a special occasion. Shaking the boy’s shoulder slightly, it wasn’t long before a ball of blonde fur raised from the pillows. Sam’s hands rose to his hair, fixing his bangs so he could see properly. Finn waited a minute or so, letting the boy come to his senses before breaking the news.
“She’s completely fine with it. It was like she didn’t even care, she didn’t even care that we had sex. She just wants us to be safe.” Finn spoke with a fast pace. “She also said you can stay over tonight, you just need to call your parents to tell them.”
“Finn, slow down.” Sam muttered, still groggy from his sleep.
“Oh okay.” Forgetting the boy had just woken. “Everything’s fine, she… Everything fine, Sam.” Finn sat next to Sam and grabbed his hand, tangling their fingers together and gave a light squeeze.
Sam managed a little smile, but nothing more. “Good, I’m happy for you.”
“Are you okay?” Finn asked, responding to less than enthusiastic answer.
“Yeah, I’m just really tired. So much has happened in the past twenty four hours, and I can’t think. I am really happy for you, Finn.” Sam forced himself to give a dorky grin, feeling like he had been kicked in the stomach over and over.
“Here,” Finn pulled back the duvet, getting into the bed and pulling Sam onto his chest. “We can sleep for a little, if that will help.” Finn understood that Sam had gone through a lot, his own actions or not, and wanted to help the best he could but he didn’t want to force Sam to talk about. Finn was happy to just lay with him.
Sam rolled over, resting his head against Finn’s shoulder; feeling the boy’s warm breath on his head. “Thank you.”

The next day, both boys had woken with a smile after a much needed rest. Sadly, it was Monday and therefore they had to go to school - the one thing Sam was dreading more then going home. Puck would be there, and Sam could only imagine the remarks he might make about what happened. Hopefully Santana had taken care of it like she promised. Sam still needed to thank her for the help, adding that to his mental list of things to do today. After demolishing a huge breakfast provided by Mrs. Hudson, the boys drove to school and resumed their ‘just friends’ façade for the day. They only had a few classes together today, and of course Glee Club, so it helped with not over-interacting.
They separated after getting to their lockers, Sam leaving Finn to get his necessary books for his first classes, and heading then heading to it. Sam however had a free period, so he decided to work off all the alcohol and food he consumed the previous weekend. The gym was perfect for Sam; no one really spoke to one another, and no one got in your way. He could do his thing without having to worry about any unwanted persons approaching him.
Changing into a pair of sweats and a vest, Sam began to work on his abs as much as possible - noticing that they were becoming a little less defined. You would think sex would help with his exercise but he had been out of the gym for over a week, and Finn’s incessant need to eat all the time didn’t help.
Once Sam got started, he got thinking. He could help but shudder at the thought of breakfast because of how awkward it was sitting there and knowing Finn’s mom knew about them, and their sexual activities. Finn however, couldn’t be happier and truly Sam was happy that his mom was completely okay with the fact that he’s gay but he couldn’t help but be a little bitter because Sam knew he would never have that. His parents would never embrace him and tell him how proud they are, and that they love him no matter what. Sam would never be accepted by his family, and he hated them for that. He hated what they believed in, he hated that he could never be himself around his own family out of fear.
“’Sup, Trouty?”
Sam almost dropped the weights on his body at the sound of Puck’s voice, seeing the boys hand lift the weight so it didn’t crush him. Sam head was placed directly in line with Puck’s crotch, and he was wildly aware of it. Puck must’ve known of the proximity of his dick to Sam’s mouth because he had the biggest smirk when the blonde jumped to his feet and glared at him.
“What do you want, Puck?” He remarked, moving to a different station as to avoid the boy.
“I came here to apologize for the best night of your life.” Puck answered, continuing to smile, following Sam. “Santana instructed I do so, so here I am… Apologizing.” Puck drew out the last work, almost sounding it out as if teaching a child the word.
Sam wasn’t buying any of it, though he made a mental note that Santana did in fact pull through for him. “Leave me alone, Puck.”
“Why?” Puck asked, stepping even closer to Sam - their bodies less than an inch apart. “Didn’t you enjoy it?”
The blonde could feel Puck’s breath against his face, their eyes staring directly at one another - though Puck’s kept glancing down to Sam’s lips. He was tempted to push Puck away from him, but then he realized making one of the people who could out him angry wouldn’t work for the better.
“Did you not enjoy the way your mouth slid down my dick, Sam? The way you let me fuck your mouth? Did you not enjoy my come in your mouth?” Puck was smiling, but not in a nice way, in almost a dirty way. “Come on, Sam. Tell me you didn’t like it and I’ll go.”
Sam stood motionless until he felt Puck’s hand press against the clear bulge in his shorts, finally pushing Puck with a harsh force. “I was drunk, Puck. No, I did not like it. I hated it so much I threw up afterwards. Just leave me alone.” Although slightly hard, Sam was telling the truth. He didn’t enjoy it, he didn’t enjoy the way it made him feel.
Puck didn’t make a move to come closer, but his smirk remained. “Sure, whatever you say. Your hard dick says different. Let’s just say, if you weren’t with Finnessa and Santana hadn’t threatened to go all ‘Lima Heights’ on my fine ass, I would love to show you how much you’d enjoy it with me.” Puck laughed, grabbing his dick through his sweatpants. “Let me know when you feel like blowing my mind again, Sammy. I can’t stop thinking about your perfect lips.”
“Puck, please, just go!” Sam pleaded, almost disgusted with what the boy was saying. He couldn’t tell if Puck had just come out to him, or was just trying to freak him out.
“Fine, lips. I’ll go, but don’t worry. Your secret is safe with me, but I can’t promise I won’t be jacking off in about 5 minutes thinking about your secret…” Puck left the gym, laughing, but thankfully he left the boy alone.
Sam sat down, sighing heavily. He couldn’t handle all of this, he couldn’t handle people knowing about him and possibly outing him at any second if he pushed them too far. Worse, it wasn’t just him. Finn would get hurt too, if Sam got outed - surely Finn would too and both of their lives would be ruined. He needed to figure out a way, a sure fire way, to get Puck to keep his mouth shut. Santana wouldn’t out them, but Puck could do it in a heartbeat if he really wanted. The only thing Sam could think of, although it almost made him throw up, was that Puck wanted him. Puck wanted to fuck Sam.
No, Sam couldn’t sell himself not even for his own protection. He could never whore himself out, he barely had it in him to have sex with Finn right away. He promised he wouldn’t screw things up again, and he wanted to honor that. If only Puck would be rational and not think about his dick for a second, then maybe they could talk it out. One thing’s for sure, Sam couldn’t tell Finn what Puck had said. Finn would most definitely violently push Puck to outing them to the whole school.
“Hey, Sam!” Finn ran through the doors of the gym, carrying books in one hand and his backpack in the other. “Ready for class?” They had English together.
“Uh, hey!” Sam stood, shaking off the worried look and smiling back at Finn. “Um, I will be when I change. I barely did anything, showers can wait.” Wandering to the locker and beginning to change back to his jeans and t-shirt.
Finn followed Sam to the locker room, catching a glimpse of his perfect chest and almost dropping his books. Sam couldn’t help but laugh at Finn’s inability to control himself in almost every situation.
“Those books are supposed to go in your bag, dude.” Sam laughed, pulling on his jeans and then his shoes. “Come on, we’re gonna be late.”
“Wait.” Finn pulled Sam close and gave him a quick kiss, smiling as their lips parted. “I needed something to get me through this awful lesson!
Sam smiled, seeing Finn so happy was definitely lifting his mood - the kiss didn’t hinder his happiness either. It was only last week that Finn refused to kiss him at school, now he was doing it without a second thought. Progress.
