[Javert regards Snake with a piercing, penetrating stare, his mouth flat. Rather than answer his SWAT leader's question immediately, he counters with an abrupt, curt question of his own.]
[ While the Medicine Seller knows not of most of the people in this dream or does he?, he somehow feels inclined to comment...if he will at all. For a while he's just staring at the screen, musing lightly. ]
[This time, the caller ID says nothing more than The Medicine Seller. A mystery, not so unlike the mystery of his own Christian name. And when he takes a look at the face that greets him through the feed, his natural curiosity is piqued still further. What a strange-looking man! This is a face Javert will not soon be forgetting.
The Inspector gazes intently back at the Medicine Seller's musing stare.]
It is more interesting than most. I do not often remember dreams.
[ He seems distracted, still humming to himself as the man speaks back through the dreamberry. There's a long pause in which the Medicine Seller doesn't say anything. ]
Ooooh? ...will you be able to recall all the details of this dream later? What talent.
[When this dream video appears, he decides to watch it thinking he may learn a little more about 'who he's up against', so to speak - but, alas, he doesn't get far into the video when- -]
[While he's had the misfortune of catching some awkward glimpses of Fujiko's breasts back home (as a grifter teasingly using her sexuality to her advantage, and far too often allying with their enemies, she got herself into trouble often enough) he hasn't quite gotten used to their immodest exposure. But, back to the dream.
In light of The Incident in November, the last thing he needs is to view Naomi in this way, especially when he's trying to get over his helpless physical attraction to her. Thankfully, the sight of her seducing Javert - and knowing this is the inspector's dream - does help to kill the slightest, guilty flicker of attraction to her he feels in this instant. Flushing crimson, he looks away, promptly disconnecting the call.
[While Valjean is a man who likes to keep a close eye on a few particular citizens of Somarium, there are some things that even he can not stomach.
The sight of a woman, no matter how beautiful, sprawled out and indecently dressed atop of a desk is more than enough to have him hit the disconnect without uttering a single word.
Yep, this dream certainly speaks volumes. Just what kind of a partner has Javert grabbed for himself?]

[That brief blip did not escape Inspector Javert's notice, as things rarely do a spy's keen eyes. Within the next half hour, Jean Valjean will find the following message waiting for him in his inbox:]
When you are ready to ask your questions, send for me.
I must ask you to shake off those damning thoughts. You may rest undisturbed tonight. She is not a woman of the town, and I do not pay for her company.
[No worries, Noel; Javert is already neatly dressed and just about to head out the door when she gives him her naively concerned call. He arches an eyebrow down at the girl through the video feed, calm and perhaps vaguely amused.]
I recommend spending less time pondering my personal state of mind, Vermillion, [says he lightly. He does not seem offended or affronted in any way. He is merely making an observation.] You may use that effort to perform your duty instead.

No, it isn't true. You are right.
[What's that, Snake? Were you asking for more? ... Well.]

I have not yet become that depraved.
