Sookie sat staring forward as Bill drove to the vampire bar in Shreveport. In her low-cut white dress, she knew she was dressed a bit like bait, but she wanted to look nice for her date! Although she was nervous about the bar, the calming silence she felt inside the car with Bill was enough to calm her ( ... )

Sookie definitely stood out quite a bit from the fangbangers that were hanging around the bar tonight, but he'd much rather her wear the pretty white dress than the leather and such that the others were wearing. He found her much more attractive than any of the others hanging around this place. “Have I mentioned you look lovely tonight?” he asked, leaning down to whisper it in her ear so that others wouldn’t hear. The other vampires in the bar would hear, but there was little he could do about that ( ... )

Sookie followed Bill to a booth that was slightly out of the way of the main action of the bar. Not that it did much to deter the influx of thoughts. 'No bite marks. Wonder if they're under that tiny ass dress,' she heard before Bill's question interrupted her. "What?" she looked up at the waitress, "Oh, I'll have a gin and tonic, please."

She reached across the table and placed her hand over Bill's. Closing her eyes, she focused on his complete lack of thoughts, which was a lot clearer with touch, and managed to push the rest out of her mind.

The waitress soon returned, arching a suggestive brow at her hand on his before placing their drinks on the table. She retrieved her hand and picked up her drink, taking a long sip. "Do you like these kinda places?" she asked, since it didn't exactly look like Bill's scene.

He covered her hand with his other one and gave her hand a squeeze. Even though he didn't have the ability to read minds, he found her every bit as calming as she did him. She made him feel more human than he had since he had died.

Bill made a face and shook his head when she asked if he liked these kinds of places. "Honestly? Too tourist-y for me," he admitted to her. There were plenty of places where he could get a warm and willing meal that didn't involve people coming in wanting to take pictures of him with his fangs out to show the office buddies at home.

"I am trying to be more along the 'mainstream,' but people asking to take my picture kind of...freaks me out," he admitted, taking a second to think of the more modern way of saying what he wanted to say. "It makes me feel similar to a costumed character in Disneyland." Not the greatest of feelings.

"I do know the people who run this place, though." Not people he technically got along with, but at least he knew what he should expect from them at any given moment.
