Who: Sookie, Bill, Sam, Anyone else in Bon Temps
Where: Merlotte's Restaurant & Bar
When: Evening
Status: Incomplete
Picking up plates full of greasy foods with a playful wink from Lafayette, Sookie Stackhouse cheerfully made her rounds of the place, setting a cheeseburger down there and a plate of onion rings there. On the outside, it looked like a normal night at Merlotte's as she wore her usual smile, despite the berating and crudeness going on in the patrons' minds.
Since the night she'd met Bill, nothing had been the same. Though she'd only saved him from that disgusting, horrid couple that wanted nothing more than to drain his blood and leave him to die, she had gained a new label, other than "freak," of course. She'd always been a freak for her uncanny ability to know what someone was thinking--that's what some people called it anyway--but now she was friendly with a vampire. Only not really that friendly, she'd just talked to him that one night, what was the big deal? The guy was nice and clearly helpless. Well, not that helpless, but more so than anyone might think. She wasn't afraid of him and didn't see any reason to be. And she really didn't understand why the obnoxious citizens of Bon Temps were making such a big deal about it. They just had to give him a chance, that's all.
A father with his two sons sat down in her section and she forced her guard up as she made her way over, "What can I get ya'll?" However, the leering look she got from the father faltered it slightly and she caught, I don't care if you like bloodsuckers, I'd like to bend you over this table right now, sweet thing, and--
"A beer and couple cokes? All right, I'll be right back," she said, wearing the same bright smile, without waiting to hear the answer.
As she made her way over to the bar, she caught a few more hushed thoughts: That freak girl, hangin' with vamps now, gonna bring the whole town down...
Filthy fangbangers infestin' this town like none other. Why can't we just kill all them bloodsuckers...
Never did like her, now that she helped a vampire, that girl's freakier than a....
She leaned on edge of the bar, closing her eyes and concentrating in order to force her guard up in a fiercer way. It was harder when it was so busy and she knew so many people were talking about her. She could only hope Vampire Bill would make an appearance and scare their dirty, mean thoughts right out of their heads.
