He'd just left the office for two minutes. Two minutes, to get a fresh mug of blood and a file on the Grimslaw demons from Harmony. But apparently two minutes was enough for Spike to decide to haunt the place. Angel shoved the door open, scowling as he saw one of his broadswords clatter to the floor.

"Aren't ghosts supposed to haunt people who aren't already dead, technically?"

He stooped and picked up the sword, returning it back to its hook on the wall. Unharmed, but still. And how did Spike managed to get it off the wall, if he wasn't corporeal?

A lot could happen in two minutes. That's something Gwen knew for sure. All the little musty lawyers gave her second looks when they saw her walk by in her red leather pants and tight shirt that left her mid-riff bare. Honestly, a place as evil as this should be used to leather and skin. Even if she was going to be seeing these people on a regular basis, that didn't mean that she was going to be caught dead wearing a pant suit and some old lady flats ( ... )

"I'll pass on the heartbeat, Gwen." Angel said, putting the file and the blood down on the desk and bending down to retrieve the axe. "If you know a good exorcist, though, I'm all ears."

He glared at Spike as he returned the axe to the wall. Stupid grand Childe, of all the people to haunt, it had to be him. Why couldn't Spike toddle off and trail around after Drusilla? And the Slayer crack, that was just ridiculous. He didn't even know why Gwen was here.

"And you, stop touching my weapons. In fact, get out of my office. Go haunt one of the hallways or something."

He rolled his eyes before turning back to Gwen.

"Something you need, Gwen? I hadn't even heard you were back in town."
