Who: Dawn and Anyone Who Comes to Visit Her Where: Out in the Country Where She is Hiding When: Just After Nightfall What: Dawn is lonely all out by herself. Status: Complete
Buffy sat nervously behind the wheel of a car with her fake driver's license. Fake in the fact that she needed a different identity, but also fake because she never actually passed her driving test. Okay, so she was pretty excited to drive all by herself--probably to the horror of both Willow and Xander because, well, last time she had practically crashed her mom's jeep. But, that was so long ago. Her driving skills had to have improved by now, right

As aggravated as she was about being out here, she couldn't help but smile when she saw Buffy's car coming toward her. Of course, part of the idea of Buffy driving scared the living daylights out of her. She wasn't sure Buffy had ever gotten a real license. Besides, her driving sucked way hard. At least now she would have someone to talk to, though. Something to distract her from the mosquitoes and what she was pretty sure was a wolf in the distance

Buffy was surprised by Dawn's cheerfulness, but it was definitely a pleasant surprise. Then again, if she was giantess sitting out in the middle of nowhere with no one but bugs and trees to talk to, she'd be pretty excited about visitors, too

Dawn's cheerfulness mostly related to the fact that Buffy was the only person that she had seen in a while. Well, other than the few people that she could spy on from her vantage point. However, she wasn't allowed to talk to them at all. They might tattle on her or her sister. Plus, she might turn into a government experiment with them trying to find out more about magic. She didn't want to turn into an alien autopsy

Buffy tried to look as patient as possible, but had a feeling her clamped mouth and ever-widening eyes were giving away her extreme curiosity. She still had no idea what a thrice-wise really was, but she assumed it was a type of giant. Like thrice the size of normal people. But, obviously, he had some magickal skill if he was able to be a normal teenager and date her sister

"I wouldn't ask that if there wasn't something to get mad about," Dawn pointed out to her. Who would start a story with a question like that if they hadn't done something wrong? That was pretty much setting yourself up for failure right there, but even she couldn't help but say it at this time. She felt a little better when Buffy tried to reassure her that she wouldn't actually get mad if she told her what had happened, though. Maybe she actually wouldn't

Buffy nodded, encouraging her sister to continue the story, while she clammed up quickly. She knew that whatever Dawn was about to tell her was clearly hard to say. Hell, maybe she hadn't told anyone what happened yet. She listened quietly, her eyebrows going up in shock a few times; the drinking, then intense, that word really stuck in her mind. But, then she felt proud of her sister. Proud of her for owning up to her mistakes to a boyfriend. Buffy had far too much pride to do that, at least until way after a relationship was over

Dawn rolled her eyes when Buffy said that she didn't realize that going to college would bring the party animal out in her. She knew it was a joke, though. "It was only my first party, Buffy," she still said. It wasn't like she had gotten crazy drunk and had started stripping on a table or anything. Well, not that what she had done had been too much better. And look where it got her. Eight billion feet tall and stuck out in the wilderness
