Who: Giles and Faith Where: In route to Louisiana When: Late Night What: Giles and Faith are on the trail of a Slayer heading to Louisiana Status: CLOSED
It was weird to think Faith would be working with Giles, and very closely to him, she might add. To be a special forces-type duo for the new Council that dealt with rogue-type Slayers. She guessed, it took one to know one, right? Still, Faith had been using the past few months since the fall of the official Hellmouth in Sunnydale to gather herself and really reflect her past. Looking back may not be good, but it sure helped in figuring out the future. And right now, she wasn't sure what the damn future was going to hold.
First, being a part of the larger whole of the Slayer Army was odd enough. Secondly, being pulled away to help Giles and just Giles? She hadn't heard from Buffy at all, and she had a feeling she never would. And if they happened to run into each other, because she knew Buffy was somewhere in this state, she was pretty sure Buffy would have words - with her fists.
Nothing new there, of course.
Now word had gotten out that Slayers were the bad guys. Hey, didn't I TRY and start that trend a few years ago? she mused

Giles himself couldn't believe what was going on in the world's media today. Vampires were considered to be the good guys, and Slayers were the enemies to be feared. Did these people not realize just what they were dealing with. These were demons who fed on the blood of the living, for crying out loud! What on earth was so attractive about that

After blinking a few times, Faith got her bearings and peered out the window into the night. The heat already told her they were in the soggy south. Even the air felt thicker here. They were entering voodoo country, that Faith new. She had only been through here once before when she was traveling across the U.S. to get to Sunnydale. New Orleans was a cool town, especially during Mardi Grais. Man, did she flash enough times to get a shit load of beaded necklaces.
Another time, another place in life - a more innocent (in ways) time.
"Yeah, I agree," she told Giles about finding a hotel room. "Only thing from here to the other state is New Orleans and I gotta feelin' this Slayer wants to party." She ran her hands through her hair. "Guess you know there's a possibility we're gonna run into B, don'tcha? Thought about what you're gonna say to her if that happens? Me? I'm probably gonna be tryin' to pick myself up off the ground after she pounds me into it."
She half-joked because she knew it was more than a possibility of that scenario
Giles watched out of the corner of his eye as Faith seemed to get herself a little more awake. He knew it had to be rough trying to sleep in a car. It was one of the reasons that he was willing to do all of the driving: he found it nearly impossible to get some decent sleep in one. Also, Faith's driving was horrid. Sure, it wasn't her fault that she had never had the chance to get a license, but that didn't mean that she still wasn't terrible at it
