Dabbing her sweating forehead with a pink towel after a rigorous training session, Buffy headed to the kitchen to retrieve a water bottle. Drinking half of it in one breath, she let out an unnecessarily loud 'ahhh' sound afterwards. Just because she could no longer hunt and kill, in no way did that mean she had to turn into a couch potato, despite the fact that VTV was becoming one of her favorite channels, if only for how ridiculous the whole thing was.

She moved into the living room, draining the bottle of its contents before pulling on a zip-up hoodie over her training clothes when she heard the bell ring. "I'll get it," she called out to whoever else heard. Their house was pretty big, so it was hard to tell where Xander and Willow were located at any time. She retied her ponytail as she made her way to the entryway.

Opening the door, she stared at the young man, who quite possibly seemed to be trembling, unless she was simply imagining things, in front of her, "Yeah? Can I help you?"

Every instinct the young vampire had was screaming for him to run away. If life were like a cartoon, there would've been huge word bubbles surrounding Buffy saying "danger" and "run away", all in capital letters.

Unfortunately, the young vampire assumed that a much worse fate was waiting for him back in Shreveport, if he didn't deliver the letter as per Eric's Order.

Swallowing hard, the vampire held out his hand with the rolled up letter.

"This is for..." he realized Eric had never told him who the letter was for and started to panic. "Uh. The owner of the house I guess," he said not completely sure it was the right answer, but it was all he could come up with.

"It's from Eric Northman, Area 5 Sheriff."

"That'd be me," Buffy said to the kid, who she got the vague sense was something a little less than human. Interesting that a probable vampire would willingly show up at her doorstep. Now that was risking quite a lot. And for what? To deliver a measly letter?

Snatching the letter from what she was now convinced was indeed a vampire and unrolling it, she eyed him with some amusement, "The what from area who?" She wasn't sure who this Eric guy was or what the hell a Sheriff was or why he was a sheriff of area 5, but either way, the letter had given her full permission to take this shaky little vampire out. Despite the fact she didn't ever really need permission, it had been too long since she'd slayed anything, except maybe a few unwanted spiders in the bathroom ( ... )
