Completely oblivious to Wesley's throat clearing, Fred was immersed in her books. This wasn't totally an odd occurrence. When something like this happened, the brunette was quite focused and when she had her mind set on something it wasn't about to change for anyone. Even if there was someone else in the room trying to help. It was only when the former Watcher actually spoke that snapped the physicist out of her trance.

With a startled motion, Fred yanked the glasses off of her face and gave Wesley a bewildered look. "Huh?" It took her a moment to remember where she was, as her mind was lost in equations and tables and ways to make Spike corporeal. Most of what she could think of ended in large explosions that took out the Western Seaboard.

"Right, sorry." With a sheepish grin, she slipped her glasses back onto her nose and idly flipped another page in one of her books. "Not really. There's a lot of math here that would support the theory that there should be a way to bring Spike back. However, all that energy has to ( ... )

A sigh got out as Fred asked if he was any luckier. He's have laughed because 'lucky' wasn't really a word which featured heavily in his dictionary. If at all. Though he was slightly amused that Fred was lecturing him, who grew up with it, about magic. "I'm afraid I'm not faring much better," he muttered ( ... )

The exchange between Spike and Wesley was watched with a half smile of amusement on Fred's face. It wasn't exactly that she found Spike's insults funny, but the way that the two interacted to be telling of their character. However, after the first insult lobbed Wesley's way, the scientist pulled a more serious face and tried to look sternly at Spike ( ... )

That Spike was surprised at Fred's sudden defending, totally not needed by the way, of the Watcher he didn't show it. The only thing she would have seen had she looked, was a raised eyebrow. The vampire almost made a remark toward Wes about how he needed the little woman to defend himself but thought better of it ( ... )

The look Spike gave Fred at her blatherings when she made the joke about the frog, indicated how not amusing he found it. "Ha ha ha, aren't you funny. Don't give up your dayjob yet, snookums," he grumbled under his none breath. Of course she couldn't have heard that since she was too busy making sure Watcher boy was gonna be happy with her ( ... )

Luckily, or unluckily for Spike's wit, Fred was too busy making sure all the preparations were put together and that everything was ready to make Spike corporeal again. This all was for him, after all. And while she would be a lot more worried about the darker parts of the spell, she considered Spike close enough to her that she would do what it took in order to make sure he was made whole again ( ... )

Spike could feel dark magic in this spell. It wasn't much but enough to make him edgy. If he had skin it would crawl. Willow had used dark magic on occasion which had never sat well with Spike either. With or without the soul. Of course he had cared less when he had no soul as long as he wasn't involved. The soul, however, was screaming at him that this was not a good thing, this dark magic. Blue eyes narrowed at Wesley as the watcher seemed to get more and more drawn into the spell ( ... )
