I have a question.... Why is it that I, who if I may say so myself, am a very bright girl am failing two of my classes? This just sucks--it's completely not me. I don't understand where all this dismotivation (as if that's a word) and inability to get off the damn computer is coming from. Why the hell can't I seem to make things that I actually ( Read more... )

Awwww...poor baby. I never got to go to college, wish I had, but you just have to force yourself off the computer I guess. Even if it's just an hour or so a day.....it's called prioritizing....and I suck at it too!

Hey Manda, I'm really sorry to hear about the grade...this happens. And it happens for GOOD. One stumble can shove you towards the right way. And you ARE bright, you just slipped. And you'll never do it again.

Maybe you were following classes properly but didn't revise it back home. This thing helps--if you follow a lecture one day, you should come and revise it properly back home at night. This way you aren't unprepared when it comes to pop-quizzes and surprise tests.

Another thing helps--meditation. Do it. Many a times, we study, but we're not paying attention totally so we forget it afterwards. Meditation helps your attention focus and remember stuff.

Hope these advices help. I'm not a grade topper, but I do well in subjects I want to (I intentionally flunk in Home Economics and French, I hate them). So, GO, work from right now, where there's will, there's a way (I guess that's my main problem, I don't have will to have good grades):P

..And as for getting off the computer, it's totally upto your will. Think about how much you have to do, and how much time you're wasting on the computer. Make a routine, include 2 hours of computer time. 1 hour in the day, 1 hour in the evening. Follow the routine STRICTLY. It'll be damn hard the first week, easier on the second. And when you get the result of your hard work, aka, your good grades, you'll be more motivated to study. Motivation tops dismotivation.

You can pass college, you might just have to work a bit harder, spend a little less time on the computer, prioritize like sbg suggested. But you CAN do it. Much stupider people than you graduate all the time ( ... )
