I'll forgive you for the 'kiss that never was', and the ending (although I may just give a little sob) because you did such a wonderful job with the characterisation and the general feel of this piece. It really did feel like Mal, Kaylee and the Firefly crew to me, and that's worth a teensy bit of angst. Plus you can always write a sequel using a happier quote, right?
