Bio homework is so tedious. But then again, I'd rather breeze through 200 boring questions than struggle with 20 difficult ones... That's the difference between Biology and Physics in my book. XD

Think of it this way! Spending time with a scanlation group, going through application process and etc...It shows you're responsible, your committed, you can manage your time, you have extra-curricular interests, you have language skills...and you AREN'T a nose-in-the-books school-obsessed studyaholic. Looks good on any kind of application for school or a job or whatever.
On another note, Ravages of Time is like history; call it "discovering culture." If your parents ask you what you're doing, you say, "I am translating an adaption of Three Kingdoms and simultaneously learning about China's past and its cultural aspects." Or "I am studying tradit Chinese (which could obviously be useful in communicating with people off the mainland.)" ...^^
You might as well APPLY; nothing to lose. If you get it but decide you don't want it, you can always decline.
Yup, Ravages of Time it is. You're right about the job applications -- I didn't think of that before. I'm applying for another post in another scanlating group right now -- if I get that one, I'll probably not take this one. But if that doesn't come through, I'll definitely consider your suggestion. Thanks for your advice!
Why don't you apply for the MangaCity position too? The traditional Chinese will probably be much easier for you than it is for me... ^^;
MJ, you should....GO FOR IT! Really, and anyways, don't you have plenty of time? Ditching your friends all the time. (:P)You don't even have to waste 2 hours on the bus trying to get home because YOU get a ride....Mou... I want a ride.... Anyways, it'd be a very good oportunity. It would look good on applications. And plus, after this, if you try applying for a "real" translating job, you can say that you did something like that before. It'd give you an edge.
Really, go for it. I would, but my languages suck so much :P
Yarr, you're right 'bout the looking good on applications... didn't occur to me before. ^^; I'm applying for proofreader at Manga7 now, so I'll decide on this one after I get the results of that.
And you do NOT suck at languages! You know the most languages out of all of us -- English, French, Japanese, Cantonese, Mandarin... did I miss any? =P
i really can't imagine you not having the time for it, since u get home so quickly neways. You probably have a good hour more time than the rest of us, just because of that =P
give it a shot... if u don't like it, u can always quit.... unlessss you have to sign your soul to them or something... o_O and besides, after midterms, u'll have all the time in the world
ok, jie jie, this is for your own good. get away from the anime and the mangas. forget guys-who-look-like-girls even exist. stop drawing them in human growth. i feel sick :S
Argh, Human Growth.... let's not talk about that here. You're gonna yell at me again when I tell you what happened while you were away this week... ^^; Anyway, you'd better hurry up and recover or else I'd be VERY MAD and fire you. That's right, Ms High Priestess -- this is for your own good too. =P

Even if I do take the job, I intend to keep it, so it'll be a long-term commitment if I agree... But I'll consider it for now. Thanks anyway! ^_^
