What I thought was a problem with my laptop screen turned out to be more extensive and expensive, hence the multi-month disappearance. But I'm back with a new chromebook and not having to update from the library and not being super depressed right now should make writing easier.

Thanks! Which chromebook model did you get? I am digging mine more than I expected. It was kind of a scary jump for me, but I think it's going to work out.

Oh, I got the HP Pavilion 14 Chromebook. It has a 14 inch screen which is bigger than my old MacBook screen. It boots up super fast. It can't do all the stuff I do on the MacBook, but it can do many like take pictures and has a lot of apps, and it can do video. And, I use Google docs any way... so it is pretty super. To be honest, I don't really miss that much on the old Mac. I didn't use a lot of stuff it offers anyway. Only thing I really miss so far are Mac stickies and Skype, but I can do Google talk and that works almost as well. There are sticky things for this but not quite the same. Really though it is pretty cool, I really recommend them, especially for the price! Fantastic little machine! :)
