Fall Premiere Week '09, pt 1

Oct 01, 2009 21:18

So underneath lies my opinions (nothing too in depth) of the season premieres of 'House M.D.', 'NCIS', 'NCIS: LA', 'Flashforward', and 'Medium.'

So yeah, lets start with 'House M.D.', which in my mind was probably my favorite premiere of the week. Possibly the best episode ever in my mind.

First off, last season left me in such a funk that I was convinced that the show had jumped the shark... I mean what the fuck was that shit the writers pulled in the season finale was the most amazingly WTF(?) material I have ever witnessed. But OMG, this episode renewed my faith in the series!

Secondly, Hugh Laurie's new haircut is smexy as hell!!! I love it and you also can't see the paint that they spray his bald spot with anymore - so YAY!

Thirdly on the list, I love the new direction they are taking House (hey, he went head-first in to a cake!)... House on anti-depressants is something that we have seen before ('I'M ON SPEEEED!') but this time, he knows it and is actually learning how to cope with his new found 'happiness.' I don't think he'll be happy-go-lucky but it will definitely be interesting to see how his relationships will change, especially with Cuddy and Wilson.

Plus, no VICODIN!!! HELL YES! I doubt it will left but they really have no where else to go with that story line.

My thoughts on the upcoming season:
House's relationship with Cuddy is definitely gonna be strained when she finds out about the chick he slept with... And then combined with the rumor I heard about her love life - their relationship will definitely take a turn for heated!
If they keep up with the quality of this episode it will be amazing!
ETA: So yeah, watched the second episode and I love where they are taking his character! And omg, the Chinese woman House was cooking with made my day... I mean really, how can you not ship Cuddy/House - she does!!!

Both NCIS premiers on Tuesday were pretty bad-ass in my opinion.

NCIS was a great episode in that it filled you in on what happened during the summer and it filled in those who missed last season's finale. Though I will say that Tony/McGee got even more GAY with Ziva there to buffer them... I mean really, they need to just get together if they're gonna be like that! Lol!

Not much Gibbs in the episode but who cares cause DAMN! DID YOU SEE THAT FUCKING HEAD-SHOT?! *diez a bit inside* Gibbs is such a fucking bad-ass sniper, it's just ridiculous...

Though honestly, he takes the head-shot from a couple 1000ft away and then in less than 5 minutes, he's in the compound saving McGee, Tony, and Ziva's asses?! Yeah, that was pushing the believablity factor much more than I am comfortable with especially combined with Gibb's unatural bad-assness!!!

Thoughts on the upcoming season:
Ziva and Tony better figure out their relationship... I like it but it's starting to get on my nerves... EITHER GET TOGETHER OR MOVE ON!!!
Gibbs and Abby bitches... All I'm gonna say. And Ducky needs some loving too, in my opinion.
ETA: WHY?! I was totally not picking up father/daughter vibes from Ziva/Gibbs; more like, Gibbs was gonna throw her against his work bench and fuck her... Assassin!sex for the win but WTF about the 'father' line... Just don't get it... And lol at Abby's welcoming home speech/present to Ziva!

NCIS: LA is good but I'm still gonna give it a few more weeks before making my final decisions. It's a new series and needs to work out some kinks but besides that it was AWESOME.

Most of the characters are from the 2 parter of last year but some are new... I hate the new girl that they brought in to replace Sofia from CSI! No acting ability what-so-ever! And no chemistry with the cast - bugged the shit out of me.

Thoughts on the upcoming season:
The cast, besides the girl, is AMAZING and I can't wait to see more from the characters.
Secondly, LL Cool J and Christopher O'Donnell need to be a couple and fucking STAT! And the fact that they even acknowledge that they are a bit gay for each other in the show makes me happy woman!
ETA: And the slash continues! Still not as good as the original but entertaining... Honestly, I may only be in love with it because of the slash quality - I want Sam/Callen in bed and STAT!

No on to Flashforward, which hands down is one of the best pilots I have ever seen! This show is friggin AMAZING and also has one of the best WTF-moments I have ever seen: I mean com on, who didn't laugh at the kangaroo jumping past Joseph Fiennes?! Hilarious!

But seriously, this show reminds me of Fringe and what I did like about LOST's first season... Mystery and suspense. I'm lost but I can spot the things that don't make sense.

Though really, I think TNT's audience is smart enough to realize certain things in the show (aka: the kangaroo, the 3-star tattoo, the date, ect.) are not normal and that we should be paying attention to it... I do not think we need a commercial telling us things to pay attention - where the fuck is the mystery in that?!

Though I will say this, John Cho's acting is AMAZING. When he realized that he would most likely be dead by April 28 (I think I'm remembering that correctly), I teared-up... Not to mention telling his fiancé to go ahead and pick the song that he HATES for their wedding song cause it will make her happy - so sad! Hope he lives.

Secondly, I got some mad chills when the daughter said that she dreamed that 'there will be no more good days.' *shudders* Can't wait to find out what she in the flashforward.

My thoughts on the upcoming season:
This is my new Fringe, not that I have abandoned it, but I think this show is just beyond awesome.

And lastly, my thoughts on the new season of Medium.

WOW, have they gotten gutsier with CBS. I swear I was watching and I kept thinking, "They would never have gotten away with this shit on NBC!!!" I love it!

Now, I am a it concerned about Joe... His character just seems off but hopefully that's just because they have him doing the house!dad thing and I just have never liked the idea of Joe being a stay-at-home dad.

I am liking Allison's recovery though. Very cool that she isn't all back to normal and I hope that her right side is still a bit unresponsive for a few more episodes and that her visions/flashforwards are still unpredictable and WEIRD!!! I actually felt like things were stuck in rewind and the show was skipping - one thing I have always liked about the show is the editing.

Some mad chops there!

My thoughts for the season:
It's gonna be a lot hardcore now and I think that they can take the material places they would never have been allowed on NBC... The downside is, if they do this they're gonna have to watch out and not go to far and lose their core audience. A lot of us don't watch it for the crime or for the ghost, we watch for the family aspect!

Now you know what I think... Not much but there we go. Just some thoughts on what I've seen... Shows that weren't mention are Fringe, Sanctuary, and SGU.

Fringe I have not seen yet but hope to once I'm back home, Sanctuary will be my birthday prez from SYFY, and SGU premieres tomorrow... Now off to post a picspam of SGU...
