I can't believe how much my life has changed in the last couple of months.

I'm happy, so truly happy.  I think I'm probably crazy since this is all still very new, but I'm pretty sure that this is exactly what I want for the rest of my life - this happiness, this feeling, this person.

It's snowing - it has been all day - and for the first time, I wasn't scared to drive home in the snow and ice.  I learned how to drive well in snow in Minneapolis, but each snowstorm was a little different and a little more extreme than the next, so the anxiety never really went away.  But an east coast storm of 2-3 inches?  Pssssh ( Read more... )

It's very disconcerting that a bridge that I drove over more times than I can count is completely gone.  I've gotten in touch with the vast majority of my mpls friends, and everyone's okay, but the entire thing is nevertheless very strange and very sad ( Read more... )

My move to Baltimore went beautifully.  My new apartment is fantastic.  My birthday was perfect.  Seeing my friends and Ben more often has been better than I could have imagined.

It's good to be back on the east coast.

I just got back from a really incredible weekend trip to South Dakota with a brief stop in Wyoming. I was very excited to go given that I never thought that I'd actually ever see either state, but both were well worth the trip.

Perfect weather + 2 hours of walking around the Summit Ave. mansions in St. Paul + 2 hours of fun French restaurant with Leah & Samantha + most excellent Blonde Redhead show = annoyed that I'm leaving Minneapolis just as things are getting awesome.

I'm surviving my first legitimate Minnesota snowstorm. It feels peaceful, actually, much more so than the snowfall up to this point, probably secondary to the vast quantity of it all. It's been a good week. I saw a couple of shows that were pretty good overall; the Black Angels were fantastic, as were - surprisingly enough - Placebo. It's September! September is by far my favorite month of the year; I love that it's still warm but doesn't feel like summer (even when it's still legitimately hot), and I love that it's a time of so many transitions (generally positive ones, at that).
