After almost half a year of trying, Susan and I are finally taking the first actual steps towards home ownership. Hopefully it will be somewhat straight forward from here on out, with just lots of paper work and sitting around waiting for the closing, oh yeah, and giving lots of money to lots of people ( Read more... )

Thank you, and yes it is very exciting. I don't think I've slept through the night without waking up and instantly thinking about where to put furniture. Of course that might also be Luie jumping on my chest and meowing in my face more than the excitement though.

Hopefully. I'm still not really believing it and with all of the drama of actually getting our offer accepted, I keep waiting for something to happen and bring it all down.

I think the biggest hurdle will be the inspection. If we can make it through that without the place turning into a money pit, I think we will be alright.

Damn straight you are getting invited to help paint, or at the very least see some of the bizarre paint jobs the kids there now did to their bedrooms.

You probably didn't know I have a LJ account because I post to it very infrequently. Probably about as often as I log into Facebook, which I should probably do sometime soon to confirm your befriending of me.

Thanks, although I don't think we count as home owners quite yet. Two more months of waiting and hoping that a meteor doesn't fall on it or something.

I guess you could think of it as we are pregnant with a house, whose due date is June 30th.

Thanks, and yes, there will be more pictures. I have some already, but they are just quick and bad ones to remember what the place looked like when we where deciding if we actually wanted it or not.

The inspection is on Tuesday and I am hoping to be able to take lots and lots of pictures, which I will be happy to put up.
