The first update covered about 2 weeks. I've got another 4 to go, so I may skip a little, but this entry will be HUGE...

...where you wake up, but don't have the motivation to open your eyes for three hours or so.

Strangely enough, that's how I feel most mornings...

Without reading the above, I can save you some trouble writing up Chiang Mai.

"What do cloud jagulars do ?" asked Piglet, hoping that they wouldn't.

Sounds like they didn't - consider yourselves lucky !

Re: leeches - This is why I'm never going to Thailand. Or anywhere else foreign. Ever.

Um.. sterile maggots (those specially reared) can be used to clean wounds, as they will only eat necrotic tissue, but I don't think leeches are that useful...

Presumably they're flying back? Don't put the evil leech in your luggasge if you do bring one back - it would depressurise.

Leeches exude an excellent anti-coagulant. I think there's a medical use for them (perhaps to stop severed bits from clotting before they're sewn back on) but can't remember for sure.
Yep. they're used for skin grafts and reattachment surgery.

Leeches are used to treat Cauliflower Ears (... in practitioners of Rugby and Boxing ...)

I have to say that yet again, with those leeches you have replicated an Aliens scene. That one in the medical bay with the face huggers. Also the scene in Red Dwarf where Lister's pants turn into a worm.
