Something Blue

Aug 01, 2007 22:12

(slightly delayed due to firstborn's birthdayness and associated stuff)

Feeling blue, or blusie or true blue? If you feel like it, give me a pressie in the realm of blue. Post me a link in a comment to some art or a poem or even some music. Anything blue will do.

Then if it appeals to you, post this in your own journal.

I feel so bad I've got a worried mind
I'm so lonesome all the time
Since I left my baby behind on Blue Bayou

Saving nickels, saving dimes, working till the sun don't shine
Looking forward to happier times on Blue Bayou
I'm going back some day come what may to Blue Bayou
Where you sleep all day and the catfish play on Blue Bayou

All those fishing boats with their sails afloat if I could only see
That familiar sunrise through sleepy eyes, how happy I'd be

Go to see my baby again
And to be with some of my friends
Maybe I'd be happy then on Blue Bayou

I'm going back some day, gonna stay on Blue Bayou
Where the folks are fine and the world is mine on Blue Bayou
Oh, that girl of mine by my side the silver moon and the evening tide
Oh, some sweet day gonna take away this hurtin' inside
I'll never be blue, my dreams come true on Blue Bayou
Roy Orbison, and a blue sky from Weymouth last year.

Blue Angel, Cyndi Lauper's first band.

The first song I played when I recently rescued the 1950s record player from my parents' house.

I seem to be listening to this a lot these days - it sort of counts as blue: Summer

In the Sisters own words: The music to 'SUMMER' was written by Adam Pearson. The words were written by Andrew Eldritch. It's very pretty, and probably very cruel. It goes like a freight train painted in the shiniest yellows and blues.
