CNN's election map shows Montana and North Dakota as yellow. Not red, but yellow.

FiveThirtyEight shows Montana as 90% certain to go McCain, but North Dakota as 74% certain.

Just.... wow.

Edit: And CNN's map shows Georgia as pink!

wtf, politics

It's like bizarro world. I don't think any of those will go blue (I don't think NC will either, but you never know I guess). I wonder if this will have any long-term change the way it did when evangelicals began voting - and as a bloc. If new-registrations (young people, minorities, whoever) will continue to be politically active or just for this election. Could be interesting to see places like Georgia become less of a sure thing for the Rs.

What if every state were Ohio? Not sure if that's scary or good.

I think the funniest part is Arizona being pink. There is talk of 3rd parties hurting McCain in Georgia (Libertarian) and Montana (Constitution).

I've been wishing for Obama to join the lawsuit in Texas and sacrifice his own name on the ballot to get McCain thrown off as well. Could McCain win without Texas? Unless they were afraid of the "one vote per state" clause if it goes to the House...
