i wish sometimes that my parents would understand the importance of friendship and the necessity of, even if temporarily, namely 4 days, providing shelter for a close friend who has just been kicked out of his home.

your parents are good people. And they mean well.

Perhaps you and jason (sorry if I'm not being the vague queen) can hang out like all morning until the darkness of the night. I mean the most important thing is for you just to be there for him. I'm sure his folks won't let him live out on the streets. So all in all everything will work out.
