One of the reasons I get so freaked out when I see Americans devolving into poo-flinging third world monkeys, is I have been to the third world places that have poo-flinging monkeys ( Read more... )

I was in Desert Storm and Saudi Arabia is truely just one big pit of sand with a bunch of raciest fanatic Beverley Hillbillys with oil money in charge.

That episode of No reservations with Anthony Bourdain in Saudi arabia made it seem really nice. Did he just go to the pre-approved nice parts?

Oh, there's 'nice' places. If you have money and are invited. But by and large, if you wanted to go out into the places where the unwashed masses live, then you'd think you happened upon a muslim version of south central LA, only a million times more backward.

Don't forget he's a guy. A woman has to wear a blanket at all times and can't go anywhere alone. Is it any wonder the guys there are so pissed-off and hostile? They never even get to see any women, let alone get laid.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to immigrate somewhere, and then create a mini version of the place you wanted to get away from.

Only because after the last 30 years years of mostly conservative rule, the US populace has seen how badly they have done under the conservatives, and are ready to try a different agenda. One much more like the US has historically had....
