I really, really don't want to entertain the notion that Anonymous could be right about what they stopped. I really want to believe that, at the end of the day, all the people working at the highest levels of the political machines that run our country love it so much that they'd never dream for a second of subverting the democratic process for a short-term political gain.
At some level though, one really does have to wonder. Maybe the whole party has become like Nixon, paranoid that everyone was committing the very same subterfuge, fraud, and coverup that he and his cronies were, which justified, in his mind, the crimes he was committing.
