i haven't exactly been cursing my laryngitis, but it's never pleasant to be unable to talk, especially when one is used to running one's mouth constantly. *wry look* i've been looking at it more as yet another aspect of my (karmic) debt/payment for all the effort of the past two months, and feeling that it's likely the last tiny bit of this last ( Read more... )

Tears start rolling down my face the minute the cantor begins the opening recitation/chant at the start of Mass.

Oh, specifically I am referring to the opening of Midnight Mass, which in our church is this long recitation of the history of the world and wraps up with the fact that we are in the reign of Octavian Augustus, "the whole world being at peace," and setting up the night. For Easter vigil (we like midnight Mass, at my house ...), it's the half-sung litany of saints, by name, "pray for us." Other Masses, other cue points. :)
