just wanted to pop in and say that i got Dave out to hike today! *and the crowd goes wild* he did his two hours at the Dolphin, and we went for a forty minute or so hike off Basin Point Rd. SUCH a gorgeous day! it's clouded over now, but it was beautifully sunny this morning, and the ocean off the point was lovely to look at. then we came back into

Yay for hiking! I was psyched for yesterday's planned hike, but everyone else bailed. For me hiking has to be social, I don't really enjoy hiking alone.

i love it alone or with people, but for different reasons. it's a vastly different experience. :D when i'm by myself, i'm talking to animals, looking at flowers and ferns and moss, halting wherever something catches my eye, and often deep in thought. maybe, honestly, i'm not quite *alone*, so much as i'm with 'other energies that don't show up as vividly when i'm with other humans'. but when i was with Jen, it was all about the chatting (and geocaching, actually - my first time) and with Dave there was a ot of stopping and making out, because i'd been away a week. :D
