Is it irony that, having recorded a podcast for Choice today about smoke alarms, I should leave the roasting eggplant and capsicum a bit too long in the oven and turn them into flaming, smoky wreckage?

What a waste of good veggies. Oh, well, the rest of the dinner is fine, and hey, there's always wine! And ice cream.
