Tonight I ran 7km non-stop. If you'd told me at the beginning of the year that I'd be able to do that with just two months of training - or ever, in fact - I'd have snorted derisively. And yet, here I am.
I remember that heady feeling when I finally managed to run (for which we can read slow jog) 5km without stopping. I'd love to be back there again, but I suspect it requires functioning lungs.
Thanks! This was a slow jog for me too, since I wasn't quite sure how to pace myself for this distance. Now that I've done it I know I can increase my speed a bit next time.
I hope your lungs are improving? I have the impression that life generally is rather better for you in Melbourne (after the usual settling-in challenges). Perhaps bicycling might be an easier option than running since Melbourne is a more bike-friendly city, I think.
