Fly by Night by Frances Hardinge

I've just finished reading Fly by Night by Frances Hardinge. I can't recommend this book highly enough. It's a YA fantasy set in a non-magical world loosely based on 17th century England. There are rival claimants to the vacant throne, a Parliament set on keeping the throne empty, and a bunch of powerful Guilds who are quietly bent on increasing ( Read more... )

I loved this book! Loved it wholeheartedly and with devotion. I might have to read it again. When I saw the title of your post I got all delighted that someone else had read it.
