Who saw this one coming? It is hard to believe remnants from a hurricane could affect places so far removed from the coastlines. But on Sunday, September 21st, hurricane force 1 winds from Ike swept through the state of Ohio and left most of the tri state area in the dark for days.

Ike? I actually had a brush with that storm as it blew into Memphis the Wednesday after MFM. That was not fun to drive through as I headed home to FL.

Yepyep - Ike cut off power to at least 3 mil in the Greater Cincinnati area, including parts of Columbus and north towards Cleveland. I'm sorry you had to drive through it... but at least you made it home safely! ;-)

I had not power for about 1.5 days, which was lucky compared to the other half of my block. It took power there almost 9 days to come back. That's also how long my internet was out, but power was way more important. I lost everything in my freezer and a few things from the fridge (the ones that didn't fit into the cooler).

You were lucky to get your power back so soon! But I feel you on losing some of that food... luckily you had a cooler! I may get one soon (just in case).
