Good timing on this: I just last week picked up the new Criterion Blu-ray edition of Taxi Driver. Tons of special features, including New York, then and now, showing locations and how they've changed in 35 years. Looking forward to revisiting this classic.

Wonderful and very entertaining essay, Chris.

I wonder how BORN INNOCENT would hold up now. I remember being far more traumatized by that than I was by THE EXORCIST (which didn't traumatize me at all - in fact, the way it seemed to traumatize everyone else left me positively ecstatic).

I met Linda Blair two years ago, and am pleased to report that she was still gorgeous and very gracious.

Yes, photos show that Linda Blair has met the challenge of middle age extremely well, and obviously Jodie Foster has. Nice to know what good judgment I had at thirteen!
