Thanks for this moving tribute, Chris. I had not heard of his demise. He was one of the great ones. It's a sobering thing to see the heroes of our youth fading out over the years, but what a blessing, the legacy they leave behind.
Thanks, Mark. Yes, I knew and revered the name George Clayton Johnson from the time I was 12 or 13, thanks to reruns of "Twilight Zone." Later on it sometimes felt a bit unreal to actually know him and to call him "George."
That's quite a fitting tribute, Chris. Appreciation of George's quirky company, acknowledgement of his contributions; a respectful, non-maudlin farewell to a man who occupied only the periphery of our lives but still makes his absence felt.
I also gotta say, it's damn nice to see another Certain Slant of Light entry.
