Following up my own post... Could you try putting all but a paragraph of the photo-heavy entries behind an LJ-cut? Maybe that'll persuade LJ to put the entry on my friends page.
Most of them are hand held with a 300mm f/4 image stabilized lens, frequently with a 1.4 teleconverter added. The hawk nest needed a tripod and a 2.0 teleconverter (or I need to invest in a bigger lens).
I usually carry a tripod with me, but for wildlife it takes too long to set up and is too slow to follow their action (especially when dealing with flying birds).

I've had several people at the office looking at them without problems (and they don't have LJ accounts).

I love the baby egret, and the hummingbird quite a bit.
