I think people put those phrases into ads simply because they see everyone else doing it.
It's funny how people will copy quirks of language without thinking. The current fad seems to be emphasising Words. Like.This. - with every word given its own full stop and capital letter. Nobody used to do that a few years ago. Now? Everyone's. Doing. It.
My favourite daft ad phrase is when a car is advertised as having a 'full MOT'. There's no such thing as a partial MOT!
