'ello 'ello! I saw your entreis in VWcommunity and thought i should pop by, asking some questions. You live in tokyo, right?
I'm going there on a longer vacation with a friend but I don't speak japanese nor has i ever been there before, so i wonder, how easy is it to manage around tokyo with only english? how long have you lived there?
yeah ive lived here for the last four years. its a really good city. id say youll be fine not speaking any japanese but its always good to learn some basics....where is the? how much is ? thankyou etc. when you look at the train maps, it looks daunitng but theyre actually easier to get around on and very efficient and quick! all the train signs are in english as well. a big thing about tokyo that many dont believe is its actually not as expensive as you think it may be. i dont know where youre from but im from england and living here is a million times cheaper than living in the UK. id say get a lonely planet as that helps but also check out metropolis magazine. you can read it online. its a weekly free mag in tokyo and it lists all the restaurants/good deals/clubs/museums etc. pretty useful!
hope that helps you!!! how long are you coming for? you staying in the city?
