Ok everyone listen up carefully so I don't confuse you okay. Here it goes. I was basically offered a job by a company that Maria's Aunt works for. They are willing to respect the offer that I told them at 65 cents an hour more than I make now, and a day shift. They are willing to pay my 17.00 an hour to start out plus health insurance. Here is the ( Read more... )

Hey Chris!
okay,just my 2cents.
around here when companies get back-ordered,they usually hire on people to "fill the orders"...then before they know it,they are laid off,so one question to ask would be if there is still gonna be a position when the orders are filled.
now the job offer sounds sweet, health etc.,but you've been at the other place a long time..but also like you said, they plan on closing that division within the next year,I'd ask questions, maybe go to the interview, see just what;s in the package,as far as options,re-location.etc.
tough decision man,I wish you ( and Maria) the best!
p.s ,if it were me,personally I'd stay where I am,because 8 years means a lot!....if they close that division,and i've left,I could have missed a chance to get a promotion and all that...seniority!
my bro wanted to leave a recycling plant,i told him to stay, now he's assistant manager, mainly because he's stuck it out longer than the rest of them.

Thanks Jen. See, ther's why I am in a deep thought about this whole thing. For one, the company I am at now, has always treated me like crap. For two seority over there doesn't mean jack now, it used to but it doesn't now, such as Ihave been beat out of four job in the past two years by people who have been there for less than I have. It pisses me off. Also, at times I don't know if we can trust Maria's Aunt 100%. SHe is as we call her the "bad" Aunt. But she works for him to, so it's like okay if you are being honest to me about this job than he better not let me go after he is all caught up. But I am going to the interview and gonna see what happens. Thanks again Chris

All I can say is that I'm behind you 100% whatever you choose honey. It won't hurt to call and maybe go to the interview but I've got to admit I've got some big concerns with anything that Anita deals with because a lot of things turn out to be so shady and half-assed. I just don't want you to get a job with this company through her and then it turn out to be something like Phil's where everything is done so backwards and they can't seem to keep any of the money they are supposedly making.
