I'm trying to learn to use voice recognition software, because my right hand is still majorly unhappy from the foolish bed-lifting stunt last summer (nerve damage, I'm pretty sure, and yes, I finally broke down and started looking for a hand doctor ( Read more... )

Oh honey, you shouldn't feel bad about that. Sometimes your own life just takes precedent and there's nothing wrong with that. I'm sorry that you're still having trouble with your hand. That makes everything harder. *hugs*

*hugs back* Yeah, stupid hand. *sigh* And it was such a dumb injury too. So embarrassing.

I just miss you guys, you know? But then I open LJ and it's so daunting. :/

A hand doctor sounds like an excellent plan. <3

Yeah--I'm waiting for a ref from my chiro. If he doesn't get back to me soon, I have a a friend in the field I can bug. I want referrals, you know? I can't afford to go doctor-shopping. :D

don't feel bad about not keeping up. *hugs* just take care of yourself and check in when you can! i hope the hand doctor is v helpful, and i know i sound like a broken record with the thing, but i have a friend who was able to avoid surgery on her hand with a dozen or so treatments, so depending on what the doc says, you might want to check it out. good luck, too, with the voice recognition. i played around with whatever version dragon i dl'd a few years ago (thinking it might be useful for my mom) and even then it wasn't awful, so fingers crossed their new stuff rocks!

Seriously, I want to avoid surgery like I want to avoid being in an auto accident. :D My chiro did some work on my arm, to un-knot the muscles in my forearm that are aggravating the situation.

But it's not really helping the core issue, you know? So I'm hoping that the hand doctor can help more.

That's good to know about Dragon, because Windows speech dealie is OK but not awesome. Though I did get it working in Firefox eventually.

of all the words to leave out of the above, i can't believe the one i picked was acupuncture, DOH. my friend avoided hand surgery w/ acupuncture. *rolls eyes at self* before that i know she was able to find some relief with cortisone shots... whatever works for you, i hope you find it soon!

Hee! Ok, that makes more sense now. And thank you, that's an excellent idea. I see the hand doctor on Monday, so hopefully we can at least nail down what it is I did to myself.

Doing my best! It's hard, being a computer geek and all. I had to hire a handyman to paint the bathroom--I couldn't do it. Which is EXTREMELY annoying, you know? On the other hand, the bathroom is gorgeous in the PRI green, so that's extremely awesome.

The family is doing fairly well--the news seems to be pretty good for my niece--they're probably going to do surgery, but it's close to the surface and doesn't seem to be cancer so that's good. I guess? Still scary having her go under the knife like that which is only 12.

I miss you guys too! It was great visit!
