I am finding it hard to imagine a washer/dryer so small it would take multiple loads to get through a week, just clothes, for teeny-tiny you. ::boggles::
I must admit that the washer/dryer and dishwasher rival the 3-mile-instead-of-30-mile commute for best things about my not-so-new-anymore home. Though the QUIET and the short walk to not one but two pools/spas (almost always empty) are nice, too.
It's so sad! If I put more than four bath towels or four pairs of pants in a load, they don't get clean. So, whites, shirts, possibly two loads of pants, towels, periodically bed linens. Very sad. And time-consuming.
Yeah, when I got my little house in Portland, and bought my own washer and dryer, well. You know how you feel sort of glowy and grateful when you get something that you love so much? I had that glowy gratitude for years after buying the washer and dryer--it wore off after a few months for the new car I got at the same time. :D
So, yes, yay for fluff and fold, and the awesome people at Snow White Linens, who were so happy to see me and all "I hope we see you again!" Oh, hell, yes.
Hi back! I keep meaning to comment and say hi, and email, and then I get sucked into work again and lose my social skills. But I have been awwing over your awesome photos of young Nate!
I still haven't gotten my passport--I should have my kitchen paid off next month, and then the $50 won't seem so obnoxious. I would love to come visit you guys, still!
Awesome! Hopefully the dust will settle sometime here. And you know my guest room is open, too. Can young Nate leave Canada yet? Not that road trips with kids his age are all that much fun. :D
the wash and fold was my absolute favourite thing about living in NYC. I used to think that I didn't like doing laundry because of the quarter-gathering and not having my own washer/dryer.
and, then I got my own washer/dryer. and realized that I still hate doing laundry and SERIOUSLY. the people who will do your laundry for you are my favourite ever. time saving, effort saving and, seriously, it really is cost-effective. it's almost too good to be true.
I don't mind doing laundry if I can do it whenever? And I loved my washer so much, when I had one.
But this beats even having a washer, I think. Plus, I'm pretty sure their awesome machines are getting the soap out better, and my clothes seem cleaner and fluffier, without that fabric softener smell. I think those big washers have better spin cycles than the crappy one we have in our building. I'm so in love. And they were so nice and cheerful and helpful. Seriously, in love.
A very belated Hi! back! Sorry--Mondays are 12 hour days, and Tuesdays have lots of resulting brain damage. I shouldn't post late Sundays, it means I'm way late answering some of the comments.
I miss you! I keep checking in periodically, I just am so overwhelmed this year... Things are better, though, if not less exhausting. *hugs*
