I guess it's good...but most countries/cities that get the olympics end up in serious debt for years afterwards.

I like that it was in a continent that's never had it before, as opposed to a country that's hosted it, like seven times.

I agree. When i heard that Rio was up for the ooooo i thought that was a cool idea. I didn't expect it to happen, given the others that were up for it too.

But i don't really care that Chicago didn't get it. I'd rather spread it around give everyone around the world a little more investment in the Olympics. Especially since we Americans seem to care so little about it. Of course it is hard to care about something that happens in the middle of the night or 5 am in the morning because they won't give the Olympics real face time, or if they do its old news. I don't remember this being such a big problem when i was a kid.
