I will NEVER understand why people have such trouble opening the doors on city buses. There's a yellow strip that says "press yellow strip to open" and every single day i see at least one person fail to open the door, panic, and holler "back door" to the driver so he can open it remotely ( Read more... )

people also don't realise that when the green light above the door is activated, the back door is ready to be opened. also, take your freaking mitts off!

Chris, your posts are always hilarious and insanely relatable. Watching people fuck that up is simply wonderful.

p.s. on our city's trains the door opener is a little light that you need to push and people always stab at it over and over and when it doesn't work they flip out and run down to another door... I shortly thereafter witness a perfectly capable human being touch the same button and get on the train first T no hass

If I may speak candidly for a moment.

I am one of those people who would not be able to open the door - I over think and get so nervous about taking the bus that my mind suddenly goes blank and all my basic former knowledge goes out the door. I take the bus maybe once every year but there is so no excuse for the people who take it once or twice a day.

I won't clump you in to the group of people that make me want to give up. instead i will clump you in to the group of people who i want stand up and help with the door because they seem like a nice person.

A coworker and I noted this once, and then we used to randomly hurl our entire body weight against the wall and yell, "BACK DOOOOOOR!" in high-pitched, frantic voices, then laugh hysterically.

I can't do that anymore, because the buses in Mpls/St Paul don't have the yellow strip and accompanying problem. TWIN CITIES!
