Probably the same way I got it about 2 years ago...maybe a friend of hers had it and they shared food or something.

Mono can be passed through the air and you can catch it if you are already sick or have a weak immune system. Got it last year.

and... you can catch mono say today, and then it may not develop into symptoms for a long time (years)...

There are a few ways to get mono actually. Number one would be through some sort of physical contact with another who has mono. In other words kissing and things like that. The next way is the passing of the pathogen through sharing a drinking glass or utensil of sorts. The last way and most frequent for college students, stress. Stress eventually wears down the immune system and opens up gateways for viral infections. In short, a married woman can catch it in any of those ways.
