Wow, airline travel just ain't what it used to be

Hello, all, from Pearson International Airport in not-so-lovely Toronto. I did not intend to be in Toronto, but my flight out of La Guardia to Ottawa was cancelled, and they sent me standby to Toronto, where I had to ask for standby to Calgary ( Read more... )

Argh. That sounds awful. You haven't been having much luck with that lately, have you? >_< I hope you get home quickly, safely, and a little more comfortably.

Well, I'm home, but once again, my luggage is not. And this time it's Air Canada, so you know what that means. My bag might be in Calgary waiting to be delivered. It might still be in Toronto, hopefully in a secure area waiting for a later flight. It might have been loaded onto another plane and right now it could be sipping mai tais on a tropical beach.

Who knows? Certainly not Air Canada's baggage tracing system. Apparently, the customer service agents who have to deal with upset and irate customers with missing bags do not have access to the system that scans in the barcodes on luggage tags. That does not compute for me.

Ah well. I sure hope my suitcase is enjoying those tropical drinks. I could use one about now.
