(no subject)
Weekend.
Met up with Amanda last Wednesday & we went to Hogs Breath for dinner. It was great to catch up with her & I was sorry we couldn't spend more time together.
Work was fun on Thursday night as Jules was in charge (no supervisors as they were all off training) so we all had 45min dinner breaks haha We had two newbies filling in but we didn't really need them as it was so quiet. Friday was a bit of a loss too, one of my friends' went home early & so I had to do the 35-page replen alone again.
The shop was busy on Saturday (not as bad as last week) but Jac & I were still run off our feet. Collapsed that night but managed to eat dinner as my appetite is slowly starting to return (THANK GOD)
Mothers Day - my parents', G & I went to the Witches Cauldron for dinner... we've worked out that between us, we've eaten there over 75 times; mum & dad have been going there before they were even married! We had a really nice dinner, talked about family stuff & whether mum & dad used to worry about me when I was a kid (answer - not really lol)
At one point... mum noticed something on the seat next to me that looked like a tablet or pill:
Mum: 'What's that on the seat? Is that a pill of yours?'
Me: 'No...' (started to reach for it)
Mum: (screeching) 'Don't pick it up!!! It might be an illegal drug!!!'
Me: (pissing myself laughing) 'Okay okay stop freaking out... I'll get rid of it'
So I got a napkin, picked it up & put it on my empty plate which got taken away. About an hour later:
Mum: (touching my shoulder) 'You've got a loose cotton here'
Me: 'Huh? Where?'
Mum: 'Uh-oh. I think there's a bead missing'
Me: 'Off my dress?'
Mum: 'Yes.... oh dear, I think that thing you threw away was actually a bead'
Dad & G started laughing at this point.
Honestly. Mothers *throws arms up*
I can't wait for this weekend - I'm not working at Ikea this week & then I'm having my birthday
get-together at the Brisbane Hotel -YAHOO!
I'm exhausted.
