"Look, Anika, the tree fell over!" I peer out the window where Dada, Uncle Shawn and Uncle David, the tree faller, has falled a big tall tree in the next yard. You climb onto the window seat and press your face to the window. It's not long before you find your words.

"we'll get you another one" reminds me of when isaiah is having a nightmare and i go into his room and tell him that i'll buy him any toy he wants and let him have chocolate. usually he says "ok" and his nightmare ends.

A tree-hugger in the making. I just love it.

Are you still writing your novel? You sound inspired. Maybe pregnancy inspires you?! :)

Yes, I see a strong nature loving side to Anika. She's happiest when she's free to roam in her yard or play in her sandbox. It's quite funny, in my opinion, to hear her comment on the weather sometimes. She'll look outside and tell me if it's raining and then if the sun comes out, she'll happily tell me that "it's a beautiful day!" (a learned line from one of her storybooks) and suggest that we go outside.

I go back to it here and there but haven't added new content. I seem to be really over-editing it, if you know what I mean, and then I can't decide which revisions I like better.

I've always enjoyed reading anecdotes the best, like Roald Dahl's autobiography, "Boy", so I'm copying his style right now.

Unfortunately, finishing my marking and writing report cards is one of my top priorities right now, but yes, I am kind of inspired because I'm reading the stories that my students are writing and I'm awed by their creativity.
